AL wins 3 Brahmanbaria seats

The Awami League-backed candidates have won from three of the four seats up for grabs in Brahmanbaria.

The fourth seat went to a Jatiya Party candidate in Sunday’s polls.

According to Returning Officer Mosharraf Hossain, Awami League candidate RAM Ubaidul Moktadir Chowdhury won from Brahmanbaria-3 (Sadar).

He got 268029 votes while his nearest contender Jatiya Party (Manju) Faridu Uddin polled 6786 votes.

Awami League candidate Ziaul Haq Mridha won from Brahmanbaria-2 (Ashuganj-Sarail) with 37508 votes.

Hqis nearest rival Nayar Kabir (independent) bagged 30046 votes.

Awami League’s Fayejur Rahman Badal won from Brahmanbaria-5, securing 104057 votes while his closest rival from Jatiya Party Kazi Mamunur Rashid polled 10935 votes.

According to Assistant Returning Officer Moazzem Hossain Ahmed, Awami League candidate Sayedul Haq won from Brahmanbaria-1 (Nasirnagar).

He secured 69573 votes while his nearest contender Redwan Ahmed got 7894 votes.

Two other Awami League candidates have been elected uncontested in two others seats in the district before the votingdue to their being solo contestants.
