A case has been filed against former lawmaker and Awami League leader HBM Iqbal with Gulshan Police Station, a police officer said Monday. Assistant director of the Anticorruption Commission Md Ibrahim filed the case at 4 pm Monday. Iqbal's wife Momtaz Begum has also been accused in the case. Gulshan police duty officer Md Jasimuddin told bdnews24.com, "In the case details, Iqbal and his wife have been accused of concealing wealth worth Tk 11.43 crore." On Feb 18, the ACC issued notices on 50 politicians, bureaucrats and others to submit statements of their movable and immovable property. Iqbal claimed himself to be sick, and following a court order, submitted his wealth statement through his wife.
