Dhaka, Nov 23 (bdnews24.com) –Abdul Mannan, an advisor to the main opposition BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia, has been made BNP president of its Dhaka district unit.
Mannan is also a former state minister for civil aviation and tourism.
Confirming the appointment, the party's office secretary Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told bdnews24.com on Tuesday, "The secretary general has made the appointment according to the approval of the chairperson."
Mannan replaces barrister Nazmul Huda, who was also a BNP vice-chairman and was recently expelled from the BNP for speaking against the party.
The national standing committee of the BNP, at a meeting chaired by its chairperson Khaleda in the party's Gulshan office, took the decision on Sunday.
