The National Citizen Party (NCP) and Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) have joined the eight-party alliance led by Jamaat-e-Islami, its chief Shafiqur Rahman said.

On Sunday, he said both parties would hold a detailed media briefing at night to shed light on the development, particularly on seat-sharing arrangements.

On Sunday, Shafiqur highlighted these developments at a joint press conference held at the National Press Club.

Shafiqur said the alliance welcomed “two new members -- the NCP and the LDP” while speaking.

He added, “Oli Ahmed of the LDP is present here, and Nahid Islam of the NCP has just met with us; they have now joined our coalition. They will hold a press conference later tonight to provide full details.”
