17 officials promoted to additional secretary

Seventeen officials have been promoted to additional secretary, the establishment ministry said in a statement Tuesday.

Dhaka, Jan 15 (bdnews24.com) -- Seventeen officials have been promoted to additional secretary, the establishment ministry said in a statement Tuesday.
They are:
• Director of BFIDC (Bangladesh Forest Industries Development Corporation) Golam Maula Majumder
• Dhaka divisional commissioner Ikram Ahmed
• DG of BRDB (Bangladesh Rural Development Board) Abdus Sobhan Shikder
• Director of Jamuna Multi-Purpose Bridge Authority Mohammd Masud Elahi
• DG of Food Department Molla Wahiduzzaman
• Managing director of Bangladesh Shipping Corporation Quamrul Alam Rabbani
• Joint secretary of home ministry Quamrunnesa Khanam
• Private secretary to the president Mozammel Haque Khan
• Joint secretary of establishment ministry Abul Kalam Azad
• DG of Chief Adviser's Office Manzur Hossain
• Chairman of National Housing Authority Abdul Qayyum
• DG of BSTI (Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution) Ajmal Hossain Khan
• Joint secretary of Local Government Division Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury
• Managing director of BFDC (Bangladesh Film Development Corporation) ANM Badrul Amin
• Member of DESA (Dhaka Electric Supply Authority) Shafiqul Azam
• Joint secretary of information ministry Zahurul Alam
• Joint secretary of Finance Division Shafiqur Rahman Patwari
Sixteen officials remain in the same offices as before or have been transferred.
Quamrunnesa Khanam has been transferred to the Directorate General of Family Planning, Abul Kalam Azad to the health and family welfare ministry, Manzur Hossain to the BTMC, Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury to the Department of Social Service, Shafiqul Azam to Sadharan Bima Corporation and Zahurul Alam to the Office of the Chief Controller of Import and Export.
The 17th official, Golam Maula Majumder, is about to go on leave preparatory to retirement (LPR), an official with the establishment ministry said.
