Fire in Mumbai rooftop restaurant kills 14 people
A late-night fire at a restaurant in the Indian city of Mumbai has killed 14 people.

Flames erupted after midnight on Friday from a rooftop restaurant in the Kamala Trade House restaurant and shopping compound in city’s southern Lower Parel area, reports IANS.
At least 23 people have been injured in the fire and being treated at hospitals.
The fire started from a bistro ‘The Mojo’ around 12:30am.
It quickly spread to another surrounding pub and a restaurant in the Kamla Mills Compound, the IANS report quoted a disaster control official of the local municipal corporation saying.
More than 12 fire fighting units rushed to fight the blaze which was finally brought under control around 6:30am, said the official adding the firemen rescued 10 people safely.

Police have booked the restaurant’s owner for negligence, culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Initially the blaze was suspected to be triggered by an electric short-circuit, says IANS.
Eleven of those killed were women attending a birthday party at a rooftop restaurant, Reuters reported citing police.
The 28-year-old woman celebrating her birthday was among those who died, her grandfather told the news agency.
Kamala Mills, a refurbished industrial compound, houses swanky restaurants and other commercial establishments.
Several media outlets also use the compound for their offices and at least three national news channels were affected by the fire, including Bennett Coleman and Co's Times Now and ET Now.
