The house of Dekhon Barman in Tikoil, a small village in Chapainawabganj’s Nachol Upazila, stands out among the ordinary clay houses of his neighbours. Each wall inside and outside of this house is like a living canvas. Using red clay, chalk, and natural colouring, this housewife has adorned the walls of her house with traditional and contemporary Bengali designs. The quality of the artwork, crafted with great skill by Dekhon, has made Tikoil a destination for tourists.
