More than three centuries after it rose on the Buriganga’s southern bank, Jinjira Palace in Keraniganj stands battered by neglect, encroachment and time. Built in the late 17th century, the palace later became a prison for members of Nawab Sirajuddaula’s family after his defeat at the Battle of Plassey. Only two fragments of the once-sprawling complex survive today.
