White herons have gathered in a field a farmer has ploughed to cultivate carrots. The birds are on the hunt for insects in the mud. At one moment their wings are spread against the open sky, and the next they are standing quietly on the cultivated land. For now, the carrot fields in Manikganj’s Singair have become a makeshift habitat for these herons.
