Dhaka Metropolitan Police led the drive on Sunday.

“Stale rice was stored in the refrigerator,” said Executive Magistrate Moshiur Rahman. “We also found oil being reused. Old yeast also was also found in fridge.”

“They were fined Tk 100,000 for all these violations.”

“None of the food was old,” Boomers Café Manager Amar Bose told bdnews24.com.

“That is why the authority returned the food instead of destroyed it after the test.”

Workers at the eatery said the fine was unreasonable.
