The measles outbreak in Sylhet has claimed two more young lives in quick succession, both infants dying within an hour at a hospital.
The death toll from suspected cases in the division rose to 22 on Thursday amid a nationwide outbreak.
They died while undergoing treatment at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital on Thursday evening, said Mahbubur Rahman, the hospital’s deputy director.
Mahbubur said one of the children, an 8-month-old, is from Sylhet city.
The other, two months younger, was from Shantiganj Upazila of Sunamganj, he said.
One of them died at 6pm and the other around 7pm.
On Wednesday, a child died in the Sylhet Division with measles symptoms.
