“Avengers: Endgame Encore” has generated an estimated $4 million from Thursday previews across North American cinemas, according to Murphy's Multiverse.
The figure follows a record $15 million in domestic advance ticket sales reported a day earlier, putting the extended re-release on course for an opening weekend of more than $25 million, it reported.
Strong advance sales and positive fan reception have helped build momentum for the return of the 2019 Marvel film.
The re-release also includes new scenes linked to December's “Avengers: Doomsday”, the report said.
Marketing for the film has intensified over the past 10 days, with Marvel promoting the re-release alongside the launch of Infinity Vision.
Joe Russo has described Endgame as a “critical companion piece” to Doomsday, according to Murphy’s Multiverse.
