They include actors Zahid Hasan, Sadia Islam Mou, Riaz Uddin Ahmed Siddique, Ferdous Ahmed, Shakil Khan and Aruna Biswas.

Singer Momotaz Begom MP and actress Shomi Kaiser, who is seeking the party’s ticket for contesting in the parliamentary elections, will also be in the campaign.

Besides them, Bangladesh ODI cricket team captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has collected a nomination form of the party.

The stars went to the Awami League’s Dhanmondi office on Tuesday.

“They will join the campaign next week,” Awami League Publicity and Publication Secretary Hasan Mahmud said.

Actor Ferdous said they were joining the campaign to show support to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“We love the prime minister very much. We are treading the path of development she has shown. I don’t think Bangladesh will continue moving forward without her remaining prime minister,” he said.

Zahid Hasan said, “We have held our heads high confidently because of this boat logo of the Awami League. We speak proudly about how the prime minister has taken our country forward whenever we go abroad.”

Riaz urged the young generations to vote Hasina and her party to power again.

The next general election is scheduled for Dec 30. The campaign will start after the allocation of electoral logos among the candidates on Dec 10.
