Abhishek Sharma has led a sensational batting performance for India in the third T20I against Afghanistan, carving out a milestone century as India shattered multiple batting records.

According to the International Cricket Council (ICC), the opening batter struck the fastest-ever T20I century for India and the third-fastest overall, building on his rich vein of form following scores of 82 and 39 in the first two matches of the series.

He reached his hundred in the ninth over off just 30 deliveries.

Abhishek raced to his half-century in 16 balls, marking the joint fourth-fastest fifty for India, the ICC said.

He already holds the record for the second-fastest T20I fifty for his country, having reached the mark off 14 balls against New Zealand in January.

The blistering 108-run knock finally ended just one ball before the halfway mark of the innings, when he was dismissed by Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan.
