The Civil Engineering Alumni Association of Uttara University has hosted the Civil Engineering Alumni Reunion 2026 on its Dhaka campus.

The event brings together former students, faculty members, university administrators, and distinguished guests, the university said in a media statement.

The proceedings opened with a joint tree-planting initiative by Dhaka-18 MP SM Jahangir Hossain and the university's vice-chancellor Prof Eaysmin Ara Lekha.

The initiative was designed to promote environmental responsibility and sustainable development on campus, the university said.

He highlighted the vital role graduates play in building institutional reputation and pledged his continued support for local educational development.

Vice-Chancellor Eaysmin reiterated the institution's commitment to academic excellence, research, and innovation.

She described alumni as critical stakeholders who help shape the university’s identity and professional network, reaffirming the institution's ongoing backing for graduate engagement programmes.

The event welcomed several guests of honour, including Prof Mohammad Abdur Rashid of the Department of Civil Engineering at Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET); Prof Md Sultanul Islam, dean of the School of Civil, Environment and Industrial Engineering at Uttara University; and Razia Sultana, spouse of MP Jahangir.
