The students have been asked to leave the halls within 9am on Wednesday.
The authorities say the summer vacation has been brought forward.
Police also detained 27 protesting students on Tuesday morning to break up a siege laid to Vice-Chancellor Prof Abdus Sattar’s office.
The students began their protests on Apr 10 when five of them had been expelled for beating up a security guard on charge of sexually harassing a female student.
