Only two students could qualify for the 125 seats allocated for B-unit examinees, because they managed to fulfil last year’s requirements of securing 15 in the elective English section, 20 in general English section and a minimum cumulative of 200 marks in English SSC and HSC examinations.
As a result, the university has decided to not make compulsory to have elective English section this year, Vice Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique has said.
“Only students, who did not study in [Bengali medium] would answer in the elective English section,” he told bdnews24.com. The same clause was in place during the 2013-14 academic year’s admissions.
