Khulna, Feb 8 (bdnews24.com) – At least 50 people were injured, including police personnel, as students clashed law enforcers at Khulna Polytechnic Institute Sunday.
"Students brought out a rally on campus demanding the cancellation of the referred system of exams," Khulna city assistant police commissioner Rabiul Islam told bdnews24.com.
"They began vandalising classrooms and the principal's room. Clashes broke out as the police tried to stop them," said Rabiul.
"The police were forced to fire some 50 tear gas shells to disperse the students."
The assistant police commissioner also said that students smashed three trucks.
"The situation came under control at around 2pm in the afternoon," he said.
The injured have been admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital and clinics around the city, said police.
