Chittagong, Aug 23 (bdnews24.com) – A formalin testing centre has been set up under private management at Kazir Deuri in the port city.
It is Chittagong's first formalin testing centre wherefrom buyers can have their things tested free of cost.
Addressing the opening function on Tuesday, acting president of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mahbubul Alam said formalin is harmful to human health and risks cancer.
The centre would be run jointly by Masud and Brothers, Alam Trading and Corporation, M Alam Gas Station and Kazir Deuri Bazar Samity.
Alam said such testing centres would be set up gradually in other markets of the city.
