3 state banks get new chairmen

The government has appointed new chairmen to three state-owned commercial banks, two being Dhaka University professors including the incumbent DUTA president. Finance secretary Mohammad Tarek told bdnews24.com that finance ministry issued the order on Wednesday.

Dhaka, Sept 9 (bdnews24.com)—The government has appointed new chairmen to three state-owned commercial banks, two being Dhaka University professors including the incumbent DUTA president.
Finance secretary Mohammad Tarek told bdnews24.com that finance ministry issued the order on Wednesday.
Khondakar Bazlul Huq, a professor of international relations and president of Dhaka University Teachers Association, has been made chairman of Agrani Bank.
Abul Barakat, general secretary, Bangladesh Economic Association, and a professor of Dhaka University economics department, has been appointed chairman of Janata Bank.
Former former managing director, Rupali Bank, Kazi Baharul Islam, has been appointed chairman of Sonali Bank.
