The sack was found behind a house at Uttara's sector 14 on Friday afternoon.
Uttara West Police Station's Sub-Inspector Firoz Alam said the body had been cut in two.
"We assume her to be around 30-year old. She was wearing a blue sweater but the lower half of her body had no cloths," he said.
Alam said the victim had a black mark on her throat.
He suspected the body had been dumped five or six days ago.
It has been sent to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital for autopsy.
