Representatives of about 250 youth organisations across the country joined the launch of the platform on Saturday. It was inaugurated by prime minister's son and her ICT adviser Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed Joy.

"The country was bogged down with various problems five year back including employment and power. We have succeeded in solving those issues.

"But only improving the present will not do. We want to ensure Bangladesh's future," Joy told the launching ceremony at Dhaka's Radisson Blu Water Garden Hotel.

'Young Bangla', an enterprise by the Centre for Research and Initiative (CRI), will provide entrepreneurial support to the youth organisations affiliated with it.

CRI Executive Director Sabbir Bin Shams told the inaugural ceremony that the initiative aims to integrate the youth with the development process of Bangladesh.

Young Bangla is a national platform and the CRI will provide it secretarial supports, he said.

Its convener Nahim Razzak MP said that they aim to incorporate the 40 million youth of the country with the government's 'Vision 2021'.

The present Awami League-led government's 'Vision 2021' envisages that Bangladesh will be mid-income state with a liberal, progressive and democratic welfare approach by the year 2021 , which marks the 50th anniversary of the country's independence.
