Dhaka, July 19 (BDNEWS) - Taslima Nasreen, the self-exiled Bangladeshi novelist, has made it to the list of Nobel Peace prize nominees.
"Several people get nominated for the prestigious Nobel prize and finally, only one gets it. I am also hopeful about it," Nasreen told BDNEWS confirming the report over phone from New York Tuesday.
Nasreen, whose books have already triggered the wrath of fundamentalists in Bangladesh leading to a ban in the country, declined to comment on whether she was upset over not been nominated for Nobel prize in literature.
The author, who has been living a life of exile following threats to her life by a section of the ultra fundamentalists, is now living in the USA.
