Acting President Abdul Hamid approved their elevation, State Minister for Law Qamrul Islam told bdnews24.com on Thursday night.
The new judges are Justice Mohammad Anwarul Haque, Justice Siddiqur Rahman Miah, Justice Hasan Foez Siddique and Justice AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury.
With the latest appointments, 10 judges will be working at the top appeals court.
Justice Haque obtained master’s and LLB degrees from Dhaka University and later completed the Certificate Course on Effective Case Management in National Judicial College under the University of Nevada, Reno, Florida, USA in 2001.
He joined the Judicial Service as Munsif on Apr 15, 1972 and was promoted as District and Sessions Judge on Nov 14, 1988.
He was elevated as Additional Judge of the High Court Division on July 3, 2001 and appointed as a judge of the same Division on July 3, 2003.
Justice Siddiqur Rahman Miah holds a BA (Hons) degree in Political Science and later completed his master’s degrees in Public Administration and Political Science from the University of Dhaka.
He also obtained his LLB degree from the same university.
He joined in the Judicial Service as Munsif on Jan 1, 1976 and was promoted as District and Sessions Judge on Mar 3, 1993.
Author of as many as 120 books on different subjects, he was promoted as an Additional Judge of the High Court Division in 2002 and was regularised in the same Division two years later.
Justice Hasan Foez Siddique was enrolled as Advocate of the District Court, the High Court Division and the Appellate Division in 1981, 1983 and 1999 respectively.
He was promoted as an Additional Judge of the High Court Division in 2001 and was absorbed as full judge eight years later.
Justice AHM Shamsuddin Choudhury enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court Division in 1978.
He was elevated as an Additional Judge of the High Court Division in 2001 and his job was regularised eight years later.
