Status of junior army officers upgraded

The government has officially upgraded the status of the post of Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of Bangladesh Army to first class (non-cadre) from second class.

The status of the post of sergeant was upgraded to second class from third class, according to a gazette notification issued by the ISPR.

With the upgradation of the status of the post of JCOs and sergeants, their ranks and salary structure would also be revised, the military’s press wing said.

It further said that according to the organisational structure of Army, all administrative, operational and the existing regulations for discharge of different duties and responsibilities will remain unchanged and in force.
