Dhaka, July 26 (BDNEWS) – A meeting of superior selection board (SSB) ended Wednesday without decision on mass promotion of 293 senior assistant secretaries to deputy secretaries.
However, sources concerned said, the meeting decided to promote 12 joint secretaries to additional secretaries.
It did not give decision on promotion of another 30 joint secretaries.
The sources said that the meeting could not take decision on promotion of the 293 senior assistant secretaries as there were differences of opinion about 100 others, deprived of the promotion earlier.
Cabinet secretary ASM Abdul Halim presided over the SSB meeting. It was attended, among others, by establishment secretary, law secretary, local government secretary and home secretary.
