Dhaka, Dec 5 (bdnews24.com) - Close Up 1 best singer for 2005 Nolok Babu Tuesday was charged with assaulting a Dhaka University student.
Touhidul Islam, a master's student of peace and conflict studies, filed a complaint with Gulshan Police Station, accusing Babu of assaulting and swearing at him in the evening.
Babu has denied the charges. " I didn't do anything," he told bdnews24.com by telephone.
Islam told bdnews24.com Nolok's private car hit him in Shahjadpur when he was crossing the busy road.
"As I protested, Nolok and his three to four aides got down from the car and swore at me. At one stage, Nolok assaulted me," Islam added.
"Do you know who am I?" Islam quoted Babu as asking him.
Sub Inspector Rezaul Karim of Gulshan police said they have taken the complaint as GD no-273.
