Dhaka, Oct 3 (bdnews24.com) — One of the main charges brought against Delwar Hossain Sayedee is murder of the father of writers Humayun Ahmed and Mohammad Zafar Iqbal, and cartoonist Ahsan Habib.
The Jamaat-e-Islami leader was indicted on Monday by the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) for charges of crimes against humanity committed during the Liberation War in 1971.
One of the 20 charges framed against Sayedee included killing of Faizur Rahman Ahmed, the father of the three renowned people, on May 5, 1971.
After the indictment, Ahsan Habib told bdnews24.com, "Though the trial started after a long time, now I want that it ends early."
