An arms cache has been excavated in Bogra which police suspect were hidden during the War of Independence in 1971.

Around 9am Sunday, construction workers found a pot around 1.5 feet underneath while digging soil for a septic tank on the land of one Ashik Khan in a village near the district town.
Six grenades, 24 rounds of bullets, three SMG magazines and 10 LMG magazines have been found in the cache, he told bdnews24.com.
Additional Superintendent of Police Shonaton Chakroborty suspects the arms were hidden there during the Liberation War.
