Probir Sikdar granted bail after police produce him at court

Journalist Probir Sikdar has secured bail after police produced him in court on Wednesday before expiry of a three-day remand.

On Tuesday, police was granted three days to interrogate the journalist, who is accused of ‘libel’ against LGRD Minister Khandker Mosharaff Hossain in a case filed under the ICT Act.

 

Lawyer Swapan Paul, the plaintiff of the case, said police had finished interrogation of Sikdar and so he was produced in court before expiry of remand.

 

Paul has sued Sikdar over his Facebook post allegedly ‘defaming’ LGRD Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain.
