President, PM mourn Musa

The President, Prime Minister, Speaker and BNP Chairperson have condoled the death of senior journalist ABM Musa.

They expressed their shock in separate messages after Musa died at around 1:15pm on Wednesday at a hospital in Dhaka at the age of 83.

President Abdul Hamid in his message called Musa ‘a bright star in Bangladesh’s journalism’ and said ‘his contribution to journalism will not lost’.

He observed his death was an ‘irreparable loss’ to the media in Bangladesh.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Special Assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil quoted her as saying in a message: “Musa was a witness to numerous historical events in his long journalism carrier. He will be remembered in Bangladesh’s journalism.”

Both the President and Prime Minister conveyed sympathy to the bereaving family and prayed for him.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury and Deputy Speaker Fazle Rabbi Mia also expressed their condolences.
