Dhaka, March 4 (BDNEWS) – Nazia Andaleeb Preema's sixth solo painting exhibition began here Friday evening at the Alliance Francaise de Dhaka's La Gallery with 30 paintings. Jacques-Andre Costilhes, Ambassador of France to Bangladesh formally inaugurated the 12-day painting exhibition. Myriam Bassinot, director of Alliance Francaise de Dhaka, Yuri I. Makarov, director of Russian Cultural Centre and Moinuddin Khaled, art critic were present at the inaugural ceremony. A total of 30 paintings took place at the exhibition. Of them, 15 are paintings of oil and the rest are pixels (digital media). Preema used oil and digital media for the paintings, as this kind of work is not much familiar yet in the country. Jacques-Andre Costilhes said, "First of all she is a female artist and her paintings have boldness and she gives colours live in her works." Preema expressed her emotion saying "I have working with computer for last ten years especially with graphics as well as oil media. I wanted to mix these two media." The exhibition will remain open everyday from 9am to 12pm and 5pm to 8pm until March 15. kh/ehc 1926 hrs
