PM inaugurates Bahaddarhaat flyover

Prime Minister Shiekh Hasina has inaugurated the 1.3 kilometre Bahaddarhaat flyover at Chittagong on Saturday, which is now open for public transport.

The construction of the flyover began in December 2010 and has been opened two months before its scheduled time

The flyover connects the Bahaddarhaat bus terminal to Cox's Bazaar and Upazilas of Southern Chittagong.

The Tk 10.6 billion project was funded by the Chittagong Development Authority.

Supervision of the construction was handed over to the Army following a guarder collapse last November that killed 13 people.

The Prime Minister, who is scheduled to address a civil gathering at the Jamyatul Falah National Mosque ground, has inaugurated 21 projects and laid the foundation plaques for 8 more in Chittagong.

Among her other programmes are attending a darbar at Chittagong Cantonment, the inauguration of the Bangabandhu complex at Bangladesh Military Academy and attending a programme at the Naval Academy at Potenga.
