A member of a Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samity faction has been shot and killed in Rangamati’s Baghaichharhi.

Victim Bankusum Chakma, 30, was killed in a gunfight in his Betagichharha village under Bagaltali union council on Thursday afternoon, Baghaiccharhi Police Station OC Amir Hossain said.
PCJSS (MN Larma) blamed rival group United People’s Democratic Front or UPDF for the death of Bankusum.
PCJSS (MN Larma) leader Gyanjib Chakma said it was not a gunfight, but an attack by UPDF ‘terrorists’.
The UPDF has denied the allegation.
Bankusum’s death might have been a result of a conflict inside the PCJSS (MN Larma), UPDF spokesman Niron Chakma said.
