Man shot dead in Dhaka's Kamrangirchar

The dead man was facing charges in murder and drug-related cases, police said

A man suspected of several crimes has been fatally shot by unidentified assailants in Dhaka's Kamrangirchar.

The incident occurred in the Muslimbagh neighbourhood during the early hours of Tuesday.

The dead man has been identified as Md Ramzan, 43, who was named in murder and drug-related cases, according to the police.

Locals alerted the police around 3 am after discovering a man lying on the road in a pool of blood, said Mostafa Anwar, the chief of Kamrangirchar Police Station.

Upon arriving at the scene, law enforcers found Ramzan lifeless with bullet wounds to his chest and the back of his neck, leading them to conclude that he had been shot.

Ramzan resided in the capital's Lalbagh area.
