Police is also looking for two other friends of Oishee suspected of involvement in the gruesome murder.
Police’s Joint Commissioner Monirul Islam told a press briefing at Detective Branch office that Oishee Rahman, her friend Mizanul Rahman Rony and housemaid Sumi Begum will be shown arrested and 10 days remand will be sought for interrogating them.
They will be produced in the court at noon.
The Joint Commissioner believes much progress has been made in the investigation of the murders.
“We found a knife and kitchen knife (boti) from the house, but the regular knife was used in the murder. The other one was brought from the kitchen to sever from Swapna’s waist a bunch of keys, which had the one to the closet.”
About the daughter of the slain couple the DMP Joint Commissioner said, “The girl (Oishee) had many friends. She had become spoiled. Her parents tried to stop this and did not allow her to get out of the house.”
“Oishee was furious with her mother, so she was stabbed eleven times against only two suffered by her father.”
When asked how many were involved in the murder he said, “We know now that Oishee was involved. The matter will become clearer when we find her two other friends.”
Oishee was in ‘hiding’ ever since her parents’ blood-drenched bodies were recovered from the bathroom – bolted from outside – of their Chamelibagh flaton Friday.
She walked into Paltan Police Station at noon on Saturday to turn herself in.
A team of detectives launched an operation in the afternoon after her surrender and arrested the other five individuals.
Mahfuzur, 45, and Swapna, 42, used to live on the fourth-floor flat with their two children – Oishee and Oihee – and a child maid.
Oishee, an O-Level student of Oxford International School, is the eldest of the two children.
