New Air Force chief Abu Esrar gets rank of Air Marshal

Newly appointed Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Abu Esrar has been officially adorned with the rank badges of Air Marshal.

Army chief General Iqbal Karim Bhuiyan and Navy chief Vice Admiral M Farid Habib adorned the badges in presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in a ceremony at her office on Thursday evening.

The Inter Services Public Relations Directorate said the outgoing air force chief Air Marshal Muhammad Enamul Bari would hand over Bangladesh Air Force Command to Esrar on Friday.

Prime Minister’s Security Adviser Major General (retd) Tarique Ahmed Siddique, Principal Staff Officer of Armed Forces Division Lieutenant General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq and Prime Minister’s Military Secretary Major General Mia Mohammad Zainul Abedin, among others, were present on the occasion.
