Dhaka, Mar 23 (bdnews24.com) — Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin of Onus Garments Limited has been elected the new president of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
The newly elected directors of BGMEA cast their votes on Tuesday night to elect their president, according to a BGMEA statement issued on Wednesday.
They also elected four vice-presidents — Nasir Uddin Chowdhury of Eastern Apparels, Siddiqur Rahman of Sterling Group, Faruq Hasan of Giant Group and S M Mannan of Seha Design.
They will take over their charges at the AGM of BGMEA on Mar 27.
The panel, Sammilito Parisad, took away all the posts as the other panel titled 'Forum' boycotted the BGMEA polls held on Sunday alleging there were discrepancies in the voter list.
