He arrived at around 5pm by an Indian Air Force aircraft at BAF Base Bangabandhu, Kurmitola.

Major General Md Mahfuzur Rahman, Adjutant General of Bangladesh Army, received him at the airport, the Inter-Service Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) said.

On his arrival, Singh placed floral wreath at ‘Shikha Anirban’ inside the Dhaka Cantonment to pay homage to members of the Bangladesh Armed Forces martyred during the 1971 War of Independence.

A smartly turned out army contingent presented him a guard of honour at Senakunja.

He inspected the guard and took salute, and also planted a sapling at the Senakanja premises.

He then met his Bangladesh counterpart and discussed matters of “bilateral training of two friendly armies and professional issues”, the ISPR said.
He along with his four-strong entourage will witness the President Parade marking the commissioning of cadets of 72nd BMA Long Course and 43rd BMA Special Course at Bangladesh Military Academy at Bhatiary, Chittagong on Tuesday, before leaving Bangladesh.
The ISPR and the Indian High Commission in Dhaka earlier on Sunday said the visit was part of high-level exchanges between the two armed forces.
This is also aimed at “strengthening friendship and cooperation” between the two armies.
