Dhaka, Jan 31 (bdnews24.com)—The government on Tuesday reassigned the home secretary and three other public administration secretaries. Agriculture secretary C Q K Mustaq Ahmed has been made the new home secretary.
The previous home secretary, Manzur Hossain, has been assigned to fill his gap, according to an order of the public administration ministry.
The step comes after the post of inspector general of police (IGP) was elevated to senior secretary rank. Manzur Hossain was a secretary, while the new home secretary is a senior secretary.
Meanwhile, director general of Prime Minister's Office Mikail Shipar will be the new acting secretary of the labour ministry. Kazi Akhter Hossain, who was additional secretary at the agriculture ministry, has been assigned as chairman of the Land Appeals Board.
