Dhaka, April 12 (BDNEWS) – The government Tuesday issued license to closed down Ekushey Television (ETV) enabling one time most popular channel to resume its operation, said a competent source.
The television channel, which was closed down by a court order on August 29, 2002, was the first TV channel in the private sector with the facilities of beaming through both satellite and terrestrial.
After a prolonged legal battle the channel got back its license and is likely to come into operation shortly.
An expatriate Bangladeshi Abdus Salam now owned the lion share of the channel.
