Gallantry award for freedom fighters

Freedom fighters will be honoured with a Bir Muktijoddha gallantry award for their special contribution during Bangladesh’s Liberation War, the Liberation War Affairs Minister has said.

They have already been asked to submit in writing their ‘special contribution’ during the war to the ministry, AKM Mozammel Haque said at a function of Muktijoddha Nou-Command Association in Dhaka City on Saturday noon.

Apart from this, the submissions of the Freedom Fighters would be edited by experts to publish them in the form of books, said Haque.

Bir Sreshtho, Bir Uttom, Bir Bikrom and Bir Protik, in decreasing order of importance, were introduced immediately after Bangladesh's Liberation War in 1971.
