Five awarded Ekushey Padak

The government Monday awarded Ekushey Padak 2007 to five distinguished persons for contributions to their fields of work.Justice Muhammad Habibur Rahman and Mohammad Mahfuzullah were awarded for literature, Anwar Parvez for music (posthumous), MA Beg for photography (posthumous) and Selim Al-Deen for drama, the Press Information Department said in a statement.

Dhaka, Feb 19 (bdnews24.com) - The government Monday awarded Ekushey Padak 2007 to five distinguished persons for contributions to their fields of work.
Justice Muhammad Habibur Rahman and Mohammad Mahfuzullah were awarded for literature, Anwar Parvez for music (posthumous), MA Beg for photography (posthumous) and Selim Al-Deen for drama, the Press Information Department said in a statement.
Ekushey Padak is one of the highest civilian awards, introduced in memory of the martyrs of the Language Movement.
Each award recipient will get a gold medal, Tk 40,000 by cheque and a citation.
