After the fourth janaza at National Eidgah Maidan on Friday afternoon, an ambulance carrying his coffin started for Naotari village at Panchagarh’s Boda Upazila.

His elder son Faisal Farooqi told bdnews24.com that Farooqi would be buried beside his mother at the family graveyard after the last funeral prayer on Saturday morning.

On Thursday, the first janaza was held at the Channel i premises at Tejgaon, the second at East Razabazar mosque and third one in front of the private channel MY TV offices at Hatirpool.

After the fourth janaza on Friday at Eidgah, Islami Front supporters demonstrated blocking the road there for around 20 minutes, demanding immediate arrest of the killers and their trial.

A group of miscreants murdered Nurul Islam Farooqi in the presence of his family at his East Razabazar residence on Wednesday night.

He was a presidium member of Islamic Front, a leader of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat and also the Khatib of High Court Mazar mosque.

Besides, he hosted two programmes – ‘Shantir Pothe’ and ‘Kafela’ – on Channel i and another one on MY TV.
