She raffirmed Bangladesh government’s policy of zero tolerance towards them at the Retreat Session of the 10th ASEM Summit in Italy’s Milan on Friday.

Referring to spread of violence and terror in various parts of the world, she said her government had been critical of these acts.

She also reaffirmed Bangladesh’s firm commitment to not allow any individual or group to use its territory to carry out any subversive activities against any other country.

Hasina called upon the UN to formulate a strategy to fight against terrorism and extremism. Recalling the recent brutal attacks on Palestinians people in Gaza by Israel, she said such carnage was unacceptable.

The prime minister renewed Bangladesh’s commitment for climate-resilient development and called upon the industrialised nations to fulfil their commitment to reduce carbon emission to face the challenges of climate change.

She highlighted various policies and action plans adopted by her government to adapt to climate change.

“Bangladesh has learnt a lot on how to adapt to climate change and it is ready to share its experience with rest of the world.”

After the summit, the prime minister went to see Leonardo Da Vinci’s most famous mural, The Last Supper, on the wall of the dining hall of Santa Maria delle Grazie.

The prime minister arrived in Milan to attend the ASEM summit on Wednesday. Apart from attending the summit, she also held bilateral meeting with the heads of some participating countries including Italy and Netherlands.

She is scheduled to return home on Saturday.
