He said Bangladesh’s stance acted as a ‘firewall’ against the spread of terrorism.
“Like many other countries, especially the neighbouring ones, China undoubtedly benefits from Bangladesh’s efforts,” he said.
“We are looking forward to deepening our cooperation (with Bangladesh) in this regard (counter terrorism),” the envoy said on Thursday while meeting diplomatic correspondents in Dhaka.
He said it also helped in maintaining regional stability.
The envoy said the recent tragedy in Kunming again showed that “terrorism is the common challenge to humankind”.

The envoy was speaking on the China’s third version of reforms and the opening up last year when the world’s second largest economy set its targets for the next five years.
He also said that Bangladesh mattered to China as it strove for world of peace, development and cooperation with an independent diplomacy.
The Diplomatic Correspondents Association, Bangladesh organised the meet at National Press Club.
