Dhaka, June 9 (bdnews24.com) — Anyone having 'net wealth' exceeding Tk 20 million will face an extra 10 percent surcharge over and above the payable tax.
"No surcharge will be imposed for disclosed net wealth up to Tk 20 million," reads the 2011-12 budget proposals placed by the finance minister Thursday.
Individual tax-payers, who are found to have assets (minus their liabilities) worth the threshold, will be slapped the surcharge.
