Separate processions were brought out in the sub-district town since morning in support of the strike.

Tree trunks were used to block traffic on Comilla-Chandpur and Kachua-Dhaka roads.

Opposition activists at Subidpur on Kachua-Comilla-Chandpur road demonstrated by setting on fire a tree trunk.

Police dispersed the protesters.

Kachua Police Station OC Alamgir Hossain told bdnews24.com that additional police contingents were deployed at strategic points to avert any ‘untoward’ incident.
The strike caused sufferings for the people returning to Dhaka after spending their Eid holidays with relatives in the area.
Most of them have got stuck on the roads.
The arrested Kachua Upazila BNP Vice President Delwar Hossain Dulal passed away at a Comilla hospital on Friday.
BNP blamed his death on torture in custody and called the strike to protest it.
