Chittagong, May 28 (bdnews24.com) — Coast guard personnel have recovered smuggled ship berthing ropes from Kutubdia of Cox's Bazar.
On Friday, 21 intact and 35 cut ropes, which were left abandoned, were recovered from a house of Kutubdia island.
Coast guard Chittagong zone Lt Commander 'Rahman' put the value of the recovered ropes at Tk 10 million.
He told bdnews24.com that pirates gathered the ropes stealing from different ships anchored at the outer edge.
Action had been initiated in connection with the incident, he said.
