Baul singer Karim Shah dies

Baul singer Abdul Karim Shah has died of old-age ailments in his Kushtia home.

The Ekushey award recipient passed away on Tuesday morning.

Karim Shah was admitted to the Kushtia General Hospital on Apr 19 with respiratory and other complaints, said Abdul Gani, deputy director of Social welfare department’s Kushtia zone.

Later, he was shifted to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital on May 31.

He returned to his Chourhas home on June 7 after treatment, the official said.

Kushtia General Hospital physician Dr Salek Masud said Karim Shah had developed old-age related complications.

Karim Shah was devoted to Lalon Shah till the last day of his life.
